The XXVI edition of the EFMC arrives in Sofia
The next 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th of June the city of Sofia, in Bulgaria, will host the XXVI edition of the European Facility Management Conference (EFMC). The event will be held at the Sofia Event Center (SEC), a place in which Facility Management professionals will be able to learn about the best practices in the sector by the hands of experts from around the world.
The European Facility Management Conference is the largest FM event in Europe with more than 25 years of history. It is the flagship of FM in Europe, bringing people together from all over the world. Delegates from 53 countries and 4 continents attended last year. The audience is mainly composed of Facility Management professionals seeking knowledge, ideas and solutions for their daily problems. It is also a unique opportunity to share experiences and to network.
About the programme
On 5th June will take place the EuroFM Ambassadors Assembly. The recent international EuroFM Ambassadors Programme has led to several representatives worldwide to become members of EuroFM to spread their philosophy and join forces. This meeting will serve to share experiences and propose the next objectives. City Hall will host this important meeting for members. Also, this day, the Welcome Reception will be, where EuroFM and BGFMA want to welcome everybody with its traditional reception, prior to the conference. This will be a great opportunity to gather all the FM community, creating the perfect environment to meet up.
On the 6th and 7th of June, the conference days will take place, where representative of the Bulgarian Government will welcome the event. Great experts from Europe, Asia and Latin America will share their experience with the audience. Under the motto "Once upon a time in Facility Management land", the professionals will deal with issues such as sustainability, new technologies, market trends and FM models, among others. There will be a wide variety of content that guarantees that delegates will receive enough incentives to improve and propose new ideas in their companies.
The conferences will be completed with roundtables where topics of interest will be discussed, such as “Future of FM from a research perspective”, “IT-driven FM future - How technology is shaping the FM industry and what to expect”, “Business-driven FM models - How different FM is in each field of application” and “FM in Eastern Europe - A potential market that needs to be understood”.
At the end of the conferences, there will be a Bulgarian dinner and the Awards Ceremony to students and researchers who play a very important role in the development of the Facility Management discipline. Delegates will know the winners of the European Student Competition, Partners for Innovation´s Award, European Researcher of the Year and Best Research Paper.
Finally on 8th June guided tours will be held. Experts will show emblematic buildings, the infrastructures and offices of religious and institutional sectors. It is a great opportunity to learn first-hand the management of buildings and their facilities.
Novelties
This year, as a novelty, the business track and research track have been joined under the same programme and space so that participants have the opportunity to enjoy all the presentations. In addition, for the first time the stage will be located in the center of the auditorium, leading speakers to a new immersive experience with the audience.
Pitch-Lift Zone will be a new space that will bring together students, young people and start-up companies to give their speeches in a more relaxed atmosphere during the breaks. From this dynamic area delegates will listen to trends and opinions through these bullet messages. It is fundamental to listen to the opinion of future generations for the development of the FM, their concerns and needs will set the trends in the way of working in the future and all the companies should know them.
And finally, in the exhibition area, the Wellness Corner has been included. A space where visitors can enjoy free massages throughout the event and healthy exercises will be shown.

The conferences can be followed live and in English via streaming through the application of the event on Android and iOS. A mobile application in which participants, besides having all the event information updated, can also ask questions to the speakers from the auditorium or remotely, answer the surveys or send messages to other delegates.
Hundreds of people come every year from all over the world to this representative meeting of the Facility Management. A massive event that tackles the FM sector from a global perspective and that has already become an essential appointment.
